• Alternative Character Interpretation: Given the revelation that Sal has been deeply jealous and resentful of Myles for most of his life, it can be speculated if this also played a role in his murder of Renata; he didn't just want to steal Renata's fashion designs but also to lash out at Myles and take away something he loved. Sal's comments about how Myles was undeserving of Renata and that he felt Renata looked down on him, plus the observation that he never married until he became famous and then couldn't stay married, could even imply he had romantic feelings for Renata and killed her because he couldn't have her for himself. This casts his Honorary Uncle relationship to Neeve in a different light too; did he perhaps see Neeve as the daughter he and Renata could've had? Or, given Neeve's resemblance to Renata in both looks and personality, could he even see her as a replacement for Renata, one who adored and looked up to him?
• Nightmare Fuel: The climax has a particularly tense scene where Neeve is walking through the Garment District, trying to go about her business as usual, while Denny - the man hired to kill her - stalks her through the crowd armed with a gun. At one point Neeve sees Denny making a beeline for her and finds him oddly familiar in spite of his disguise, though she dismisses the thought that she knows him and that he's headed towards her specifically as paranoia. Then when she reaches Uncle Sal's showroom and takes the elevator up to his office, just as the grille closes and the elevator starts to rise, Neeve hears rapid footsteps and turns to see Denny right behind her, he having missed her by seconds. She realises that he is following her and immediately knows he has bad intentions, rushing to Sal for help. However, the reader knows by this point that Sal is likely the one who murdered Ethel and hired Denny, but Neeve has no idea she's trapped herself with two extremely dangerous men.
