• Harsher in Hindsight: In the April Fools' Day omake of the Where Talent Goes to Die side stories where Kaori is convicted and executed for the first murder, one of Edogawa's arguments against Kaori doing it is how she could have done it in another room all while the readers were viewing her thoughts, a Take That! to how the first trial in Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony played out. The third trial here shows exactly how such a scenario could have played out.
• The Woobie: Chiyuri, non-stop. Her mother gets kidnapped at the start of the Killing Game and is held prisoner, her best friend accidentally commits murder and is executed, thrusting her into the primary mystery-solver, and then her mother turns out to the mastermind behind her and her classmates' predicament. And that's not even getting into her status as the illegitimate granddaughter of the chairman of the Talent High school board.
