• Angst? What Angst?: Soren's parents seem shockingly calm, about their son being turned into a female green unicorn with no idea how to turn back, at first. The key words being: at first.
• Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: Awash opens with, Soren waking up to his alarm in the future, where he is now a pony ambassador to Earth. It's actually Luna, showing him an alternate world, in an attempt to get him through, his Sanity Slippage.
• Heartwarming Moments:
  • Soren's niece hugging him while he's stuck as a unicorn.
  • Soren finding it in himself to forgive Lyra, despite the fact that she (unintentionally) ruined his life.
  • Soren making piece with the fact his old life is over and moving on as his new identity "Silver Script".
• Hilarious In Hind Sight: The comparisons between Discord and The Devil, are harder to take seriously, after his Heel–Face Turn and the appearance of an evil more demonic looking villain..
• Iron Woobie: Soren survives both his phone and computer blowing up in his face. Also, he's put into the hospital, by running head first into an (apparently?) solid dream door.
• Nightmare Fuel:
  • Soren's descent into madness is absolutely horrifying.
  • Not to mention He almost kills Twilight in their duel.
  • Also, the entire conflict with Lyra's memory implant.
  • It's also revealed any male so much as suspected of a sex crime is castrated. Becomes Fridge Horror when you think about the Male to Female ratio.
• Paranoia Fuel: The thought that, Twilight could be a changling. IT's all in Soren's head, but for while, it could have been possible.
• The Scrappy: Lyra's subconscious memory backup, at least for some readers who called BS on the whole "overriding Soren's mind in self defense", after finding out she's somewhat sapient. Meaning she was knowingly trying to destroy his mind because he may have been a threat. (To be fair, it depends if you're more sympathetic to her or not.)
• Tear Jerker:
  • Soren being attacked by his own dogs, while in Lyra's body.
  • Pound Cake being turned to stone.
  • Soren having to say goodbye to his family and old life for good.
• The Woobie: Soren. Words can't describe how sorry for him you'll be by the end. Also, his Parents. Lyra's subconscious memory backup is debatably this as well.
