- Awesome Art: The artwork is nothing short of spectacular, with all the violent action and machismo that you'd expect from a post-apocalyptic 2000 AD or Fist of the North Star parody, while simultaneously cramming in as many roided-up and battle-scarred comic strip characters as is seemingly possible.
- Crosses the Line Twice:
- A Darker and Edgier post-apocalyptic comic about a violent antihero with tons of gore and nudity? Overdone. A Darker and Edgier post-apocalyptic about a violent antiheroic Charlie Brown and scores of other family-friendly comic strip characters, with tons of gore and nudity? Hysterical.
- Almost everything Cal does. He's a bloodthirsty psychopath, sure, but almost everything he does is so morbidly gleeful and is such a flamboyant showman that you almost can't help but laugh. It's hard to pick one moment above all the others, but a highlight is probably him graphically murdering the cast of The Family Circus...in the exact same circle one-strip format of the original comic.Cal: Alright — fetch me that other little shit! Sure hope you guys in the front row brought tarps!
- Ensemble Dark Horse: "Pops"
- Genius Bonus: Underneath the post-apocalyptic action, the comic is full to the brim of jokes and references to newspaper comics and their history, many of which the common layperson wouldn't know without doing some research.
- Nightmare Fuel: A whole heaping lots of it, the author is not pulling their punches on making this Darker and Edgier:
- Calv1n's brutal death, as much as he deserved it, at the hands of the Schmoo, in the form of G.R.O.S.S, AKA Get Rid Of Slimy Girls.GOOOEEEY KABLOOOOIIIEEE!!!
- Beetle Bailey, or as he's known in this setting, Beetle.Sarge: Beetle's gonna make you wish you were never born! He sure as shit wishes he hadn't been!
- Calv1n's brutal death, as much as he deserved it, at the hands of the Schmoo, in the form of G.R.O.S.S, AKA Get Rid Of Slimy Girls.
- Take That, Scrappy!: The demise of Twinkle Starr, PJ, and Trixie can be viewed as this, given the not-uncommon opinion of infant characters in comic strips as a sign of an author's inability to generate new content with existing characters (or a Spotlight-Stealing Squad).
