YMMV / We Are Our Adventuring Avatars

  • Adorkable: Adam's socially awkward when it comes to romance, since he's a career soldier with little or no off-time during his service in the Enclave.
  • Fan Nickname:
  • Fridge Brilliance: Longram confesses his love to Eve. Longram's first name is Adam which makes the relationship alot more symbolic.
  • Growing the Beard: The game suffered from having no idea where everyone wanted to go (the base idea was "WAOA but with plot"), everyone constantly afraid of screwing up due to those causing messes in the discussion thread, and suffering from general problems with narrative and pacing. Post-Revival, the game is slightly more focused, everyone's a little better ta communication, and while the last haven't quite improved, there have been far less arguments.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Shiningknight accidentally predicted 3 of the plots Marvel and DC did with the plots he GMed.
    • The Avengers movie which ended similarly to his first ever marvel plot which ended just a bit before that movie came out.
    • The marvel plot with the evil earth 3 waoaa characters attempted conquering of Earth (with that infamous exploding lupo ending) came just before DC's Forever Evil event where the crime syndicate faced similar hardship
    • Now Marvel's Secret Wars where all the various realities of the marvel universe were mashed together into one battle world which is vaguely similar to what he did to Marvel and DC.
  • Inferred Holocaust: When the group visited post-Mass Effect 3 Earth, the Catalyst's galactic wide effect did way more harm than good with emphasis on harm.
  • Jerkass Woobie: Earlier on, Helen Tiro.
  • Narm Brainwashed!Mike throwing the remains of Rhyme's wing at Hakurei Miko. Except that the actual body of the wing was dissolved meaning that he just threw feathers at her.
    • There are actually several moments of this in this game, like at one point Deadpool and Death fighting over Death's hammer at some point, or Rhyme, while fading, saying that the only thing she'll be able to think of while dying is Futurama.
  • Never Live It Down: The Discussion thread is often brought up as a subject of derision no matter how much effort is made to fix it due to WAOAA's troubled history.
  • Paranoia Fuel: NOIR-01 could be anywhere as long he's in a power grid, monitoring your every move. Your secrets in your computer won't be safe and any machine around you could be NOIR-01 possessing it which can be turned against you. Oh, and he can hack into anything electronic and has the potential to shut down an entire city's power grid or if you're really unlucky, a starship.
  • The Scrappy: Stirgon's DOVE AI and its MechaMooks aren't well received due to their Blood Knight tendencies and for attacking both sides.
  • Sweetness Aversion: While a very likable character Twilight Sparkle's extreme pacifism and trust can get this way some times.
  • Tear Jerker: Mina's separation from her step-parents, Imca's and Zagerus' confrontation, both occur at almost the same time.
  • The Woobie: Mina Longram. To elaborate, she was created to be a living battery for superweapons, physically abused by researchers, got kidnapped once (twice if you count Morinth's theft of her in cube form), and not only that, she had just lost her loving mom in battle. And the last part is what changed her forever.
