• Base-Breaking Character: Sean Killian was either a legendary Thrash Metal vocalist or he was the weak link of the band, while another contingent maintains that he was objectively a technically poor vocalist, but his crossover/hardcore-style approach was such a significant component of their Signature Style that Vio-lence without Sean is not Vio-lence.
• Vindicated by History: They were a mid-level support at the peak of their original run, but a combination of bad business decisions and inter-band conflict prevented them from getting as big as they could have and ensured their demise when thrash fell out of favor. While the respect of old thrashers definitely helped, it was the Internet that ultimately cemented them as a legend, with many younger fans discovering them through message boards, blogs, and file-sharing services and giving them the status that they had never managed to attain originally.
