YMMV / Very Little Nightmares

  • Contested Sequel: There are discussions on whether or not the gameplay or artistic style fits with the tone of the franchise, and several fans have stated they would have preferred the monsters and locations with the same gameplay as the main franchise.
  • Funny Moments: During the final chase the other escaped child stops to look at you being chased only for the cliff under her to fall in a Roadrunner-esque fashion.
  • Heartwarming Moments: Six taking the Girl in the Yellow Raincoat's raincoat in memory of her at the very end of the game.
  • Narm: Downplayed. The Butler is likely the most impressive and dangerous of the denizens of The Nest but his telekinetic powers occasionally lends itself to methods of attack that are less terrifying and more darkly hilarious. One of the very first ways he can kill the girl in a raincoat is to make a wooden clock mounted on the wall crash into her from above like a Tom & Jerry Cartoon. Later in that section it's possible for him to kill her by chucking a large bottle of detergent at her.
  • That One Boss: The Butler. He's the biggest recurring antagonist in The Nest, has the powers of Mind over Matter meaning that he can catch you no matter how far you are from him if he sees you, and has some of the most stressful and confusing stealth puzzles in the game.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: While many were intrigued by the designs of the monsters, some fans felt that they would have been more intimidating in the series' now famous art style, especially the Butler.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: For the same reasons as the above entry, the storyline of the Girl In the Yellow Raincoat's escape from the Nest was wasted as a mobile Point-And-Click game.
