  • Accidental Innuendo: In the third episode, when Roberto leans towards Hiraga until they're almost close enough to kiss, vehemently declaring "I thought we were supposed to be partners!"
  • Anvilicious: Yes, we know all too well that the Nazis are bad, bad people. So it's not really necessary to portray them as crazy addicts working for a hallucinogenic Satan.
  • Cliché Storm: Despite the reasonably intelligent plot, the author abuses stereotypical elements like Apocalypse Hitler or Anime Catholicism a bit too much.
  • Too Bleak, Stopped Caring: We already know that half the new characters introduced in the current episode will end up dead in the next one, so why even bother forming an attachment to them?
  • Genius Bonus: Most major plot points will be of special interest to those who're well-versed in Christianity and Christian symbolism.
  • Ho Yay: Given that the majority of the cast are zealous Catholics, you'd be surprised at the amount of chemistry between them; the Roberto-Hiraga Ship Tease is of special note.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: We're talking about the supposedly fair-haired descendant of Hitler, who just so happens to be the bearer of "bad dictator genes" and possibly the new Nazi Messiah and Antichrist?
  • Narm: The plot is melodramatic and brooding but peppered with awkward humour, and the sometimes-clunky animation doesn't help matters.
  • Paranoia Fuel: What kind of person will Sister Dolores' son become when he grows up?? Was Father McGee right when he claimed that the child of an evil man would not necessarily be evil?
  • Values Dissonance: The scene where Hiraga tells Carlos that God forgives him and that it's not his sin to bear after learning that he was raped by Father Klaus may be regarded as Victim-Blaming and homophobic by some viewers. However, this is consistent with the conservative views of the Catholic church, and everyone present still gives Carlos all the help they can getting out of the situation.
