- Awesome Music: The film's theme song from the original Italian version.
- Heartwarming Moments: At the ending, Pinocchio as a boy comments how ugly he was when he was a puppet, but his father comments that when you are good, looks are not important, implying that he loves him in any form.
- Spiritual Successor: To the unfinished 1936 adaptation by Cartoni Animati Italiani Roma. Both are animated productions that attempt to adapt Collodi's novel as faithfully as possible.
- The Woobie: Geppetto, like his literary counterpart. He has to deal with extreme poverty, an unfair imprisonment (it was brief, but still), a misbehaving child, worries about his son's status (offscreen), a life inside of a big fish and finally, a sickness, but he doesn't get broken.
