• Funny Moments: Just watch the three-minute intro to "We're Not Gonna Take It".
  • Damn, the entire video runs on this.
  • Then the boys finally capitalized on what fans noticed right away about the song and made it official.
    • In the VH1 TV movie about the PMRC hearings where Dee Snider played himself, they show the video in court. When they shut off the TV he bemoans "Aw, they were coming up to the best part!"
  • Listening to them cover "O Come All Ye Faithful" on their Christmas album, only to realize just how close it sounds to "We're Not Gonna Take It". Then learning it's the other way around, and they based the melody of "We're Not Gonna Take It" on the hymn.
• Germans Love David Hasselhoff:
  • The band recorded their first two albums in the UK and it was there that they initially had their biggest following (it helps that they had the endorsement of Lemmy Kilmister at the time) and maintained it until the end.
  • During the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Dee Snider personally approved the Ukranians' use of the song as their battle cry against oppression, especially as Snider is of Ukrainian Jewish descent through his father's side.
• Harsher in Hindsight: The "60's up ahead" closing line from "30". A.J. Pero passed away at 55, while the other original members did indeed get past 60.
• Heartwarming Moments:
  • To mark the fifth anniversary of The Station Nightclub fire, Dee Snider organized a benefit concert featuring a variety of rock and country artist, all to aid the survivors who had been saddled with large medical bills for their burn treatments.
  • In a 2020 interview, Dee Snider was asked about his 1985 testimony before the PMRC, and he discussed meeting with Frank Zappa, but regretted not meeting with John Denver, who also testified against the proposed censorship, saying it was one of his biggest regrets.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: The Spongebob Squarepants Movie would do their take of "I Wanna Rock", then a few years later lead singer Dee Snider would make a guest appearance on the show.
• Memetic Mutation: "Huevos con aceite... y limón!"^{Translation and explanation} "Eggs with oil... and lemon!" In Latin America, it became common to sing the chorus of "We're Not Gonna Take It" that way satirically, as the words sound similar to the title song. Officially acknowledged by the band themselves, who got to sing it that way during a Latin American tour.
• Moment of Awesome: When the Moral Guardians (in the form of Tipper Gore and the PMRC) complained about Twisted Sister's lyrics, Snider testified and delivered a verbal smackdown. You may watch the hearing, also featuring Frank Zappa and John Denver, here.
• Older Than They Think: While the band had its heyday in the 80s, it was formed in 1972, half to a full decade before its contemporaries.
• Parody Displacement: Those who only heard "Goofy Goober Rock" before hearing "I Wanna Rock" would be surprised and not think of Spongebob.
• Signature Song: Twisted Sister is best known for two songs: "We're Not Gonna Take It" and "I Wanna Rock".
• What Do You Mean, It's Not for Kids?: They had issues with this at the height of their popularity. With such songs as "I Wanna Rock" and their wacky music videos, they attracted a large following of rebellious teens and even preteens. Parents would take their families to their shows then complain when it turned out the band was anything but PG.
