  • Base-Breaking Character: Hebert; part of the audience thinks he's a perceptive, caring, lovable guy who should be Milo's boyfriend rather than Liam, another part thinks his meddling is annoying, he's way too flirty for just being friendly, too needy for attention, condescending on top of it, and he had no right at all to judge Liam's and Milo's relationship without getting real insight into it. Then there's a third party who thinks he's simply a poor lad far away from home who meddles because he's lonely and trying to connect to other people, and just needs some friends and a nice boyfriend.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse:
    • Alfons, because of his laidback nature, his friendly, supportive attitude towards Liam, and his utterly lacking ability to worry about anything. He lands in the hospital with appendicitis, is put to surgery at the very last moment, and when his worried family shows up to look after him because they haven't even seen him in two days and were informed about his condition by a gang of tattooed, brutish-looking guys, they find him flirting with the nurse. His collection of variously colored glass eyes and his somewhat goofy English add to his very special charm.
    • Also Liam's new therapist, Dr. Doris, who got an overwhelmingly favorable feedback in the comments, probably because she's such a strong, positive contrast to Liam's prior therapist.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: Liam's evasiveness and deceptions to hide his relationship with Milo cause Eli to fear that he's doing drugs — already worrying, but then it's revealed much later that Eli's wife died from alcohol and drug abuse.
  • Jerkass Ball: Otherwise very nice and supportive Dylan, Milo's father, lapses into some Jerkass tendencies regarding Sylvia, the baby of his ex-wife Nora and her new husband. He gets pissed when Nora dares to bring her daughter along, who's younger than one year and definitely needs to be looked after. Note that Dylan and Nora separated a good nine years ago, so Sylvia cannot possibly be correlated to their relationship going awry.
  • Moment of Awesome: Liam's and Milo's internet research about male-on-male sex before they have Their First Time. Yeah, may seem awkward at first glance, but those are two inexperienced teenagers who openly admit that neither of them is particularly well-informed on the subject and then decide to look it up instead of rushing into something and possibly hurting each other. That's some serious maturity, and it apparently pays off.
  • Word of God: There is a lot of information to be gleaned from the authors' answers to readers' comments and uStream chats.
