  • Awesome Music: "The House is the Safe" by Disasterpeace perfectly accompanies the euphoria of the team when they find the money inside the walls of Lorea's house and frantically destroy the walls to grab as much as they can and load the van with it.
  • Captain Obvious Reveal: In what the film treats as an optimistic Twist Ending, it is revealed the group kept the coordinates of the stash left in the mountains. Of course they've managed to memorise a set of just eight digits that lead to millions of dollars or even have written them down somewhere, making it just puzzling with how much fanfare the story treats this final reveal.
  • Estrogen Brigade: The male leads' compelling camaraderie and sex appeal helped this movie earn a female fanbase.
  • Funny Moments:
    • After Redfly tells Catfish that they can't bring the pack mules any higher up the mountain, Catfish chases away the unloaded mules while whooping and flailing his arms.
    • The cold-camping scene in the Andes turning into a Cluster F-Bomb exchange when Benny burns banknotes after Redfly forbade anyone to start a campire (so the cartel won't be able to follow their trail).
      Benny: I demand a fire!
      Ironhead: We cold-camp.
Benny: [sets banknotes on fire] Fuck you. It's my fucking money.
Ironhead: Dude, what the fuck are you doing?!
[throws a whole bag of money into the fire]
  • Heartwarming Moments: At the end, all of the surviving members of the team give their share of money to the late Redfly's family. Then they embrace each other before leaving.
  • Like You Would Really Do It: It's an All-Star Cast that alone is going to give them Plot Armour, there is no way anyone is going to die, especially not Redfly, who's brain gets splattered around.
  • Magnificent Bastard: Santiago "Pope" Gomez is a private military contractor who formulates a plan to rob drug lord Gabriel Martin Lorea after learning how much money he makes from the drug business. With the help of his informant, Yovanna, and his friends from the Delta Force, Pope was successful in finding and killing Lorea in Colombia and burn down his house after stealing 250 million of Lorea's money found inside the walls. Pope would also give a few million to Yovanna for her help and to a village leader as compensation for killing some of his villagers and discard most of it weighing him and his team down. Guilt-ridden when team member Tom "Redfly" Davis gets killed, he and his team decide to give the remainder of their money to Redfly's family, before Pope was given the coordinates of where they left the rest of the money, allowing Pope the opportunity to retrieve it.
  • Memetic Mutation:
    • "I don't know, man. I got the new baby now..."Explanation
    • Grumpy Eagle and Baby Chicken.Explanation
  • Spiritual Successor: To The Treasure of the Sierra Madre. A group of Americans head into a Latin American badlands to find a financial reward, get that award and are ultimately destroyed or broken apart by the Gold Fever that one of their members suffers.
  • Tear Jerker: Redfly's death, especially since he joined in the heist primarily to financially secure his daughter's future.
