YMMV / Transport Accident Commission

  • Memetic Mutation:
    • "If You Drink Then Drive, You're A Bloody Idiot" is a popular slogan in Australia and became the ad's de facto tagline.
    • "Bend your knee, Katie" from the "Bones" ad is also pretty well-known, even to the point of being its nickname on the official YouTube page.
  • Narm: One of their most well-known ads, 1997's "10 KPH Less", features a man being graphically hit by a speeding car. Unfortunately, many people find the ad to be this, even comparing it to the road accident scene from Meet Joe Black.
  • Nightmare Fuel: It's no wonder that the Nightmare Fuel page for transport safety-based PSAs has a whole section just for TAC ads; many involve grievous, gory injuries being completely uncensored, dead or barely alive victims blankly staring at nothing, and very quick, almost jumpscare turns from a normal scenario to tragedy.
  • Tear Jerker: The ending of "Fireball", where an elderly woman tearfully informs her husband that their son was among one of the fatalities in the titular crash-turned-fire.
Gwen: JACK! It's Mark...there was an accident. (through tears) Why us?
    Jack: Oh, Gwen...
  • Visual Effects of Awesome: Even with its narm quality, the "10 KPH Less" commercial is nonetheless quite well-made to the point that many were unaware that the hapless accident victim was a dummy and that careful editing made the split second between the real actor and the prop virtually indistinguishable to the human eye.
