• Ho Yay: Skyfire is the one and only character Starscream ever shows a hint of kindness towards in the entire cartoon, and Starscream is happy to reunite with his old friend, even promising to make him his own second-in-command after overthrowing Megatron (at least before shooting him in a rage over Skyfire's refusal to execute the Autobot prisoners). Naturally, this didn't escape fans' notice.
• Never Live It Down: Really, Skyfire's stint as a Decepticon was very brief, and only happened because he didn't understand the situation he'd woken up into (naturally, his first impulse was to join his old friend's cause), but his status as a former Decepticon defines him for the fandom.
