YMMV / Transformers: Earth Wars

Go To

  • Accidental Innuendo: G2 Optimus doesn't quite have a handle on the concept of euphamisms.
G2 Optimus Prime: My Laser Rodnote  stands ready!
Arcee: Please don't say that again.
  • Funny Moments: Menasor's combination sequence has two major bits of levity.
    • The first one, is that due to how they combine, Drag Strip and Dead End have to make a daring stunt jump to latch onto Motormaster. Drag Strip sticks the landing, but Dead End, being his usual pessimistic self, stops just short of the jump. Menasor then grabs him like a toy RC car that burnt out its motor and slams him onto his other shoulder.
    • The second, immediately after this, is that due to the Stunticons all hating eachother, Menasor is the most unstable combiner of the bunch, and that shows with him violently twitching as the connection finalizes, not unlike his RiD 2015 incarnation.
  • Just Here for Godzilla: The initial draw of the game was a combination of Optimus Prime and Megatron being voiced by Peter Cullen and Frank Welker, plus a story written by famed Transformers writer Simon Furman. Unfortunately, Cullen and Welker's contribution basically boils down to Optimus and Megatron's "begin battle", "victory" and "defeat" quotes, and only referring to a tiny number of Autobots and Decepticons who were in the game at launch. So Megatron will say, "Bludgeon!" or "Starscream!" when they're deployed in battle, but only generically say, "Go!" or the like with later characters like Onslaught or Hun-Grr, even fellow leader-types like Beast Megatron, Straxus or Galvatron.
  • Unexpected Character: The lore cuts extremely deep with this game, with notable inclusions being...
    • The Beast Wars characters include direct homages to several Generation 1 Autobots and Decepticons, instead of just using Optimus Primal and Megatron.
    • This is one of the only times Generation 1 Elita-1 is shown with a Earth alt mode.note
    • One of the variants, Jetfire Skystriker, is a G.I. Joe decal version of a specific version of Jetfire, who was thought to be Exiled from Continuity ever since he was first introduced!
