- Retroactive Recognition: Madame Balls is played by Liz Smith, who would later be best known for playing Mrs. Cropley in The Vicar of Dibley and Nana in The Royle Family.
- Sequelitis: Unanimously considered as the first bad film in the franchise (or second, if you consider "Inspector Clouseau", which was made without the involvement of Edwards and Sellers). The general consensus is that the plot is non-existent, that the way Edwards decided to honor the late Sellers, with deleted scenes from The Pink Panther Strikes Again, is of dubious taste (to say the least) and that the film ends without conclusion, leaving loose ends for the next sequel.
