Fridge Brilliance: Several things throughout the game run on Rule of Symbolism. For, example, the reason why the island is irradiated is because the island itself exists only in Tyler's mind, and the radiation represents the chemiotherapy he had to go through.
Funny Moments: In various areas throughout the game, you can find a head impaled on a wood pole. One of the places you can find one of these is on a stage in a theatre room in Chapter 4. If you interact with this specific head, it speaks to you. It's unintelligible unless you read the subtitles, which also names it Gus:
Gus: What caused the man's jaw to drop to the floor? Decapitation. I must go... my people need me. (Gus proceeds to float upwards through the ceiling while a slide whistle is played)
Spiritual Successor: Many see it as Doom II's version of Cry of Fear. Having several similarities that are almost too numerous to count (like their overall grimy desolate style, subject matters, and plot to name a few). The fact both games' plots are actually mainly taking place in the protagonists' own imagination on places that they were familiar with that are now corrupted into darker forms due to their dark thoughts.
