  • Funny Moments: Owing to its reputation in the games, the Telesto is this from the moment it's introduced:
    • It's established to be a gun with a will of its own, and it chooses its own wielders, the latest pick being Clovis. The kicker? Everyone chosen by the Telesto was doomed to, in Xûll's own words, "failure and ignominy". And Clovis can't get rid of it now.
    • The Black Armory's tests only reveal further hilarity: it's quickly established that the Telesto refuses to let anyone other than Clovis wield it (through extreme temperatures and changing its weight), it gives off wildly conflicting results whenever they try to discern its composition, and it wiped research computers and damaged valuable research equipment on its own. It's safe to say that this gun definitely lives up to its reputation.
    • Honestly, just the fact that the Telesto's presence in the story takes inspiration from its canon counterpart's in-game bugginess is pretty funny by itself.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: In the later chapters of Triumvirate, it is established that humanity has set up several cities on Neptune, dedicated to researching extremely advanced technologies. Cue Lightfall, and the reveal of the positively cyberpunk-ish Neomuna, capital city of Neptune, which escaped the Collapse unharmed (and, as a result, is significantly more advanced than the Last City).
  • Unexpected Character: Hardly anyone expected the end of Chapter XIX of Triumvirate to introduce Xûr to the story. Even fewer expected that same chapter to mention the existence of a resurrected Che Guevara.
