YMMV / Tintin: Cigars of the Pharaoh

  • Growing the Beard: While the following story is generally seen as where the series really hit its stride, this one still stands out as the first Tintin story to actually contain a coherent storyline from start to finish, as opposed to just being a Random Events Plot themed around a particular location like the previous three stories.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Readers who also play Among Us will realise that the sequence where Tintin overpowers all the conspiracy's senior members through trickery whilst everyone's identity was concealed by their hoods and robes, greatly captures the mood of the video game decades before the game was ever released, with Tintin acting like the crew-killing impostor and the members acting like the crewmates who fell victim to it.
  • Spoiled by the Format: The comic does a good job in hiding the identity of the boss (it was Rastapopoulos, as revealed in Tintin: The Blue Lotus) but the animated version has the boss pass on instructions to his men by narrating out the orders he writes in the letternote . The voice alone is enough to recognize who the ringleader of the smuggling cartel was all along. Of course, the man himself is given some traitor shots, as it is probably a Late-Arrival Spoiler at this point, given that Rastapopolous is a recurring villain in the series.
