YMMV / Three Weeks

Go To

  • Fair for Its Day: As an erotic romance novel written in 1907 that sparked massive controversy upon release, this novel has surprisingly few sex scenes, none of which are explicit, relying heavily on Purple Prose and at least one Sexy Discretion Shot.
  • The Woobie: The Lady. She is trapped in an abusive Arranged Marriage due to being queen of a Russian dependancy, has a genuine connection with Paul, but must leave him after the three weeks. She is happy that she'd given birth to Paul's son, and arranged to see him again, but before she can, her husband kills her since he now has an heir. Really, her life is sad and Paul was her one bright spot.
    • Paul after learning of her death. He loses any passion for anything, spending five years wandering Europe until deciding to see his son.
