In Israel it was broadcast as a marathon each and every summer holiday, managing to traumatize enough kids, that at least some of them made parodies of it when they grew up. • Iron Woobie: Marco goes to another country with only his pet monkey as company, so he can find his mother. Then he fails to find her. Then, he looks for her again. And again. And again. And he never gives up searching for her.
• Retroactive Recognition: In the first Latin-American Spanish dub, Marco was dubbed by the very popular voice actress Rocío Garcel.
• Signature Scene: The most iconic image in the show is that Marco is wearing a poncho and rides a donkey. It even used as promotional material for posters and home video covers.
