• Ensemble Dark Horse: Even in a Schoolgirl Series, it's the male former butler/personal attendant/stalker of Yoko, Yamaji who has won over the fans, mainly for just being a walking Funny Moment.
• Ho Yay:
  • Serina seems to have a bit of tension going on with Hayama, and Hayama definitely enjoys teasing her.
  • Sasame pretty clearly has a crush on Yoko, as her stammering and blushing whenever she's around Yoko would help point to.
  • Asako Kondo is pretty much the only person shown as very close to Nishiyama, and is continually at Serina's side despite the more unpleasant aspects of her personality.
• Older Than They Think: The anime adaptation got hit hard with this. Many reviewers considered it to be "just another moe show" that was about nothing in particular. The manga actually began serialization in 2003, making it a contemporary of Azumanga Daioh and not a copycat. But the anime adaptation came out in 2016, by which time the standard Schoolgirl Series formula had run its course and Manga Time Kirara had already been nine years deep into doing anime adaptations, and had given way to wacky comedies and School Club Stories.
• The Scrappy: Yu and Sakura aren't well liked, mainly for introducing a romantic subplot that even the non-Yuri Fans view as unnecessary, due to the fact that both are in elementary school while Yoko is a high schooler.
