• Funny Moments:
  • Gordon's grumbling when he has to pull a goods train instead of the express, much to Edward's amusement:
    Gordon: A goods train! A goods train! A goods train! The shame of it! The shame of it! Oh, the shame of it!
  • Later, as Edward came to push Gordon's train up the hill, he tells Gordon that he's ready. Gordon grumpily responds "No good!"
• The Woobie: Edward himself starts out like this, with the other engines taunting him for being older and weaker than them, hurting his feelings. The TV version, however, is toned down from the book version, where Edward is in tears until the driver and fireman feel sorry for him and take him out for a run.
