  • Base-Breaking Character: The Advisor, whose voice and personality either makes them a charming take on the announcement feature seen in other Space Management Games, or a textbook Annoying Video Game Helper. Some fans consider him to be BOTH...
    • On top of that, the advisor also has two different voices and accents depending on whether you're playing the UK or US version, which can affect just how quickly he switches from charming to annoying for some players.
  • Funny Moments: Some of the advisor's lines when a ride breaks down are pretty hilarious.
[creaking wood sound] Don't panic, there seems to be a bit of a problem with one of the rides... [extremely long string of cartoony Stock Sound Effects] Make that a, err, somewhat larger problem.
  • Good Bad Bugs:
    • Visitors will normally refuse to play sideshows if you set the prices too high, but if you raise the price while they're playing it's too late for them to back out. So you can make easy money by building a sideshow and raising the price to $10000 while visitors are playing. The best ones for this are the Slide Puzzle games, as they take the longest for visitors to complete, giving you more time to mess with the price.
    • Buying an outside corner of the available land costs nothing, meaning that if you're very patient, you can buy the whole park for a pittance of the intended price.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: The PAL releases referred to the large restroom as the Super Toilet.
  • Porting Disaster: The PlayStation port, despite introducing various new features such as new rides and the ability to actually play most of the sideshows as minigames when in Camcorder Mode, can easily be seen as this due to its heavily downgraded graphics, laggy controls and slow framerate. note
  • Polished Port: The PlayStation 2 port is definitely this. On top of fixing most of the PS1 version's lag issues, it also retains many of that version's content enhancements and boasts graphics that are not only on-par with but (in some areas) slightly superior to the PC version (visitors and staff are now full 3D models rather than the pre-rendered sprites used in the other versions for one)! On top of all that, it also features an overhaul to the physics system for Roller Coasters, with more realistic behaviors for the trains and even detailing G-Force stats after every test run like in RollerCoaster Tycoon! (This particular addition was probably the main reason the North American release of this port changed the title yet again, this time to "Theme Park Roller Coaster".)
  • Most Wonderful Sound: "Your scientists/researchers have discovered a new ride!", as well as all the Golden Ticket messages.
