- Awesome Music: The whole score by Mario Nascimbene was as bombastic and epic as 1950s movie music could possibly get.
- Ensemble Dark Horse: Egbert and Kitala are pretty memorable characters, the former due to being something of a Deadpan Snarker towards Einar and the second being a mystical guardian angel of sorts to Eric.
- Germans Love David Hasselhoff: The popularity of this film in Japan inspired Japanese people to refer to buffet as "viking", as both vikings and smorgasbords are associated with Scandinavian culture.
- Narm Charm: All those Viking warriors shouting "ODIN!" when attacking during the final battle. It's both ridiculous and awesome.
- Retroactive Recognition: Bridget is played by Dandy Nichols, who would later be best known for playing Else Garnett in Till Death Us Do Part.
