Posh, elite schools do indeed act as if they're doing you a favor by letting you spend a metric butt-ton of money to attend, will rig things against you for petty reasons, and tend to be loaded to the hilt with Sadist Teachers that are damn near impossible to fire, thanks to the system known as "tenure." They don't usually go as far as to attack students with a weapon, as seen with Claude, but that can't be ruled out...
• Squick: Even though the story is written in Japan, where the age of consent is 13 in many places, the fact that Hikaru (15) and Lavia (14) have a very active sex-life turns off many of the readers.
