YMMV / The Typical Gundam SEED Destiny

• Adaptation Displacement: Unless you're a fan of Mobile Suit Variations, you wouldn't know that things like the Destiny Impulse and Providence ZAKU were real mobile suits thought up and made into models.
• Crack Ship: Kira X Meyrin in the Gundam Seed movie. It's even lampshaded how out of left field the idea is with the in-universe audience going "WHAT!?!"
• Funny Moments: Oh, so very, very much the case. It doesn't matter when, it just is..
• Harsher in Hindsight: The Dom trio getting electrocuted is a lot harsher in hindsight since in Gundam Seed Freedom, Mars and Herbert are the only characters from the previous series who die.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: The jokes about Rau Le Creuset's ghost being the main villain and Kira groaning on how Rau is recycled yet again is outright hilarious with Fukuda's next work Cross Ange, where Embryo being a Rau Clone AND Tusk being a Kira clone was the same reaction fans had with accusing Fukuda of recycling characters.
  • A running joke is that Lacus has lightning powers. Cue the ending of Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Freedom, where Lacus's proud defender gives the Strike Freedom lightning powers that disables an entire fleet.
  • Athrun Zala's joke that everyone who is an anime character knows how to use a sword is hilarious when Kira kills Orphee using a katana in Freedom.
  • Like the fanfic, Lunamaria Takes a Level in Badass, even shooting down a nuke and Agnes.
• Ho Yay: Oh Graham...
