  • Did Alex really love Virginia, and was torn between her and his devotion to his mother? Or was he just leading her on, planning to ditch her as soon as he decided that he didn't want to face life as an adult?
  • Regarding Henrietta, was she really as bad as Virginia made her out to be? Or did Virginia vilify her out of spite because she didn't want to share Alex?
