- Alternate Character Interpretation: Corey says "I must remember that..." after Allenby shoots Alicia and reminds him he's leaving loneliness behind. Is that sentence a bitter affirmation that he's returning to a cruel society that shot a robot with a soul? Or is Corey also agreeing with Allenby that he wouldn't want Alicia to suffer isolation either?
- Fridge Brilliance: It's mentioned that any spacecraft landing on the asteroid has a limited time for arrival and departure due to the asteroid's quick velocity through space. This makes sense as the asteroid is meant as a prison. Anyone attempting to escape via spaceship, be it one they somehow built themselves or one piloted by outside help, would not find it easy.
- Retroactive Recognition: The episode features guest appearances by Jean Marsh (future creator and star of Upstairs Downstairs) and Ted Knight (best known as Ted Baxter on The Mary Tyler Moore Show).
