• Awesome Music: "Runner" by Ian Thomas, a powerful tribute to the film's subject that was later covered by Manfred Mann's Earth Band.
• Heartwarming in Hindsight: Three years after Terry's death, another amputee runner, Steve Fonyo, managed to finish what Terry had started by making it all the way to the Pacific coast. A further one year later, paraplegic athlete Rick Hansen, a personal friend of Terry's, went for a worldwide marathon tour in his wheelchair to raise money for spinal cord research. The former also qualifies as Harsher in Hindsight, though, as Fonyo later became involved in legal troubles that eventually resulted in him being stripped of his membership in the Order of Canada.
• Moment of Awesome: Pretty much the entirety of Terry's marathon. Even if he failed to successfully complete the trip, he still managed to inspire a nation.
