• Nightmare Fuel:
  • The entity chasing a terrified Jill to the stone room, and up the stairs into a weird other world, before seemingly pushing her to her death.
  • Peter, before leaving, finding a new recording in the room, of a frightened Jill screaming his name, just before her death, with the final shot of the play being a close up on Peter's horrified face, as he screams out in agony, listening to her screams.
• Retroactive Recognition: Eddie Holmes is played by Michael Bates, who would later be best known for playing Blamire in Last of the Summer Wine and Rangi Ram in It Ain't Half Hot, Mum.
• Values Dissonance: The crew refer to their Japanese rivals by racial slurs and do some impressions that are awkward to watch these days. A woman in a bar also refers to a black man as being "coloured".
