The TV Series
- Critical Dissonance: The show's critical score hovers at 46% on Rotten Tomatoes, but the audience score is 78%, although the Internet Movie Database score is also about average.
- Critic-Proof: Despite several prominent negative reviews and the infamy of being rejected by Disney+, the show set a Roku viewership record after coming out.
- They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: The real Dr. Brauer's status as a caring father and famous psychiatrist who also shows some good Spot the Imposter cunning (and who could have given his impersonator Mulgarath some Acting for Two moments between the two if Brauer had been kept as a Defiant Captive or spent more time being Forced into Evil) can make it very disappointing that he dies in the first scene.
- Watched It for the Representation: Some fans enjoy the focus on kids with mental health issues, with Jared’s friends Emiko and Hatcher receiving particular praise.
