YMMV / The Simpsons S 6 E 12 Homer The Great

• Alternative Joke Interpretation: The Stonecutters subject Homer to several painful and humiliating hazing rituals to initiate him into the group including pretending to throw him off a five storey roof as a prank and repeatedly paddling his butt. Did every Stonecutter have to go through these ordeals to become members, or was this just them tormenting Homer as payback for intruding their meeting earlier and only becoming eligible for membership on a technicality (being Abe's son)?
• Awesome Music: The Stonecutters Song (Who controls the British Crown? Who keeps the metric system down? We do! We do!) was even nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: George H. W. Bush is the only World Council member of the Stonecutters who opposes killing Homer outright. One season later, he proves to be quite on board with killing him (or, at least, beating him senseless) in "Two Bad Neighbors".
