- Moral Event Horizon: Neeta crosses it in Horizon, allowing Fawn to be Buried Alive, to get her out of the way. The only reason Dag and the other Lakewalkers don't seek immediate justice on her is that they can't prove she did it on purpose.
- Nightmare Fuel:
- Not gonna lie, the malices are pretty terrifying. Especially the final one from Horizon, a giant, winged bat-man-thing.
- In-universe, ectopic pregnancies are this for Dag. Not least because the mandatory treatment boils down to what the Malice at Glassforge did to Fawn—ripping the ground out of the developing fetus, killing it and causing immediate miscarriage.
- And the woman's survival is not guaranteed, since the problem doesn't always come to the attention of a medicine-maker before severe harm's been done to the woman's body.
