Awesome Music: Incredibly, especially for a mockbuster, "For Honor, For Country" is quite beautiful, as is "My Home is a Kingdom".
Captain Obvious Reveal: Mulan's "secret", whether you think the secret is her pretending to be a man in the army (goes without saying given that this is a mockbuster of the Disney film) or eventually turning into a butterfly (since she's a caterpillar).
Fanon: To explain her existence in the movie without destroying the context, some argue that Zhing-Zhing is a messenger rather than a female soldier.
Fan-Preferred Couple: During most reviews of this, including the one by Phelous, many viewers point out that Mulan and Zhing-Zhing have better chemistry than Mulan and the Prince. The reasons being that Zhing-Zhing interacts more with Mulan and knows her better than the Prince (and apparently talks about her so much that she suspected her "boyfriend" might've been jealous of Mulan) whereas the Prince seems to like her platonically at best up until the ending where Mulan reveals her identity.
Fridge Horror: Since caterpillars are juveniles, the presence of many caterpillars in the Chinese army raises some uncomfortable questions about whether they're Child Soldiers.
Strangled by the Red String: While Mulan has known the Prince for a while, he's only been aware that she's a woman for a few minutes before calling her beautiful and wanting to marry her.
