You can be the King Kong banging on your chest
You can beat the world, you can beat the war
You can go to God, go banging on his door

    You can beat the clock
    You can move a mountain

  • Tear Jerker:

    • In "Walk Away," the singer warns his girlfriend to leave her, knowing that he will hurt her if she stays.
    • "Flares" starts out as one when it's all about the pain in the listener's life, but rapidly transforms into heartwarming as the singer declares his desire to help them out and lets them now You Are Not Alone.
    • "If You Could See Me Now" might hit a note for everyone who has lost their parent, as the singer recounts how their father encouraged them to be a singer all their life, and now that they have made it he is no longer there to see it.
  • Signature Song: "Breakeven" was their first big hit and held this title for a while, but "Hall of Fame" became even more popular. Both are played reasonably often and get big reactions at live performances, with "Hall of Fame" usually being the closer.
