YMMV / The Ronless Factor

Go To

  • Fridge Horror: The synthodrone Ron Drakken created for when Kim tracked him down after learning that he killed Ron. Obviously Kim and Bonnie know from the start that "Ron" is a fake, but what if Kim had confronted Drakken and Shego and Ron wasn't a ghost? Would she have seriously believed, if only for a short while, that her best friend boyfriend had genuinely betrayed her to join her enemies?
  • Heartwarming Moments:
    • Once Wade manages to 'duplicate' Bonnie's ability, Kim is so overjoyed at being able to hear Ron's voice again that she cries tears of joy when all he's said is "KP... I...", and even Wade affirms that it's great to hear his voice again.
    • Everyone's reaction to Ron's full resurrection in the last two chapters. The moment after it happens, Kim gleefully hugs Ron and the two become so caught up in a joyful kiss that Bonnie has to remind them Drakken's still a concern. Bonnie herself is briefly overwhelmed by shocked joy, Rufus spends some time doing backflips on Bonnie's shoulder, and Wade is stunned into silence when he runs a scan on Bonnie's request and realises that Ron's come back to life. Once Ron returns to Middleton, Monique and Tara blow a month's shopping budget to give Ron a celebratory feast at Bueno Nacho, with Kim only half-serious about them needing to stop hugging her boyfriend.
  • Nightmare Fuel: The whole concept of Drakken's scheme, as people are abducted and replaced with remote-controlled synthodrone copies of themselves. The process is so efficient that even when confronted with the reality of their current nature, Anne Possible and Will Du can't recall exactly where and when Drakken might have been able to switch them.
  • Squick: Looking back on the day when he accidentally found a box of sex toys in the Possibles' garage when he was twelve and Kim was away, Ron is still disturbed by the memory and the subsequent conversation as James and Anne are like his second parents.
  • Tear Jerker: Obvious credit goes to the level of detail paid to Ron's funeral, as Kim goes through all kinds of emotional extremes, unable to imagine ever being "all right" after losing Ron while still trying to think of others, such as expressing her regret to Ron's father or assuring Monique she doesn't blame her friend for the crash. Even Wade and Bonnie turn up for the funeral, with Bonnie expressing genuine regret about Ron's death even before she starts hearing his ghost, and Wade explicitly muses later on that despite his genius he's too young to really get how he should feel at the death of such a close friend. Ron himself finds the whole experience depressing as he watches in his ghostly state.
