• Crystal Dragon Jesus: The religion in this book has some similarities to Hinduism; the Rifter is sort of like an incarnation of Shiva the destroyer and remaker.
• Tearjerker: Kyle/Kahlil talking about his memories of the life of Ravishan, his self in the alternate history where, as a teenager, he met John and had his life changed for the better, before dying heroically. Kahlil talks about Ravishan as if they were two different people and says that he doesn’t deserve to remember, let alone experience, any of Ravishan’s happiness because where Ravishan was a lover and a hero, Kahlil is nothing but an assassin. However, much later John is able to persuade Kahlil that not only are the two of them really the same person, but he was admirable and worthy of love in both timelines.
• Wham Episode: Part 5: John kills Dayyid. It turns out that Kyle is Ravishan.
