• Genius Bonus: Belinda's lock being turned into a constellation at the end is a jaunty parody of a legend told in the Aitia by the ancient Alexandrian poet Callimachus. In the poem, Berenice, Queen of Egypt, cut off her hair and sacrificed it to the gods so that her husband, Ptolemy III, would return safe from battle. The gods accepted the offering, and her hair disappeared from the temple and became a constellation.
