  • Hilarious in Hindsight:
    • The music video plot in Season 6 involving Melody Parker is similar to that of Marnie Parker from Girls, which came out 12 years later with the episode "She Said OK" in January 2014.
    • Carla in Season 7's salsa dancing Story Arc features her wearing costumes suspiciously similar to that of Strictly Come Dancing 2018 and 2019 (and one of the dancers even looked similar to Juliet Cowan, although younger).
  • Unintentional Period Piece: Early seasons highlight certain things in British culture:
    • Computers shown are often on large bulky monitors and the Internet and social media aren't mentioned at all, even in the 2000s series.
    • British police uniforms are typical of the 1990s, being all-black - nowadays it's bright yellow with bodycams on.
    • The fashions of crop tops and flared jeans for the female characters was very indicative of the 2000s, but dates it to a pre-recession era.
    • Much of the attitudes by male characters towards women would not fly in "Time's Up" era post-Harvey Weinstein.
    • Tony Blackburn's cameo in a 1999 episode is when he was fairly popular and an A-lister celebrity; he's still famous but nowadays does multiple radio shows and not one, like he did in 1999.
    • Season 1 had a police Ford Sierra, a car that's a rare sight nowadays, but in 1995 was common.
    • In outdoor shots, many scenes featured the Thorn Beta 79 and Thorn Beta 5, once common in the United Kingdom, but due to LED streetlighting, these are rarely seen, and the few that exist are mostly sold on eBay or not replaced due to being on private land.
