YMMV / The Prowler

Go To

  • Awesome Music: Richard Einhorn's spine-chilling music score, which precedes fellow music composer Marco Beltrami's work on the Scream films and fellow composer Christopher Young's very first music score The Dorm That Dripped Blood that was released a year after this film.
  • Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: Carl's corpse springs to life and grabs Pam.
    • The film has many an anticlimactic Red Herring that abruptly disappears from the narrative, such as a nerdy couple who make love in the basement of the graduation hall (who are not among the Prowler's victims, subverting many genre-savvy viewers' expectations) and the wheelchair-bound Major Chatham (who is presented as an unlikely suspect but is never even remarked on after this scene even though the final confrontation takes place in his home).
  • Narrowed It Down to the Guy I Recognize: Farley Granger, the most known and veteran name amongst the cast, turns out to be the killer.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: Some viewers have noted that the killer's military theme could have been developed further than "stabs people with a pitchfork."
