• Accidental Innuendo: Turns out, Pupa can feed on the active energy of the Elements of Harmony. When she comments on this to Applejack, AJ asks her to stop, as it's kind of creepy. Pupa's response?
  Pupa: Not my fault. If somepony was blasting you in the face with the tastiest thing you can imagine, would you not open your mouth?
• Genius Bonus: Ophiuchus and Cetus are the names of constellations (the Snake and the Whale, respectfully) considered in some circles to be the unofficial thirteenth and fourteenth Zodiac symbols.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: The second story arc of the official IDW comics involves Rarity being possessed by Nightmare Moon...'s power. The author's lampshaded this in a blog post.
• Jerkass Woobie: Vigil comes across as a bit stiff and brash compared to the other Guards. Then we find out that he's Horizon's brother and has been forced to watch his brother suffer from afar all this time. It's impossible to not feel sorry for him.
