YMMV / The Powerpuff Girls Twas The Fight Before Christmas

Go To

  • Catharsis Factor: Let's face it, after getting tired of hearing Princess whine and moan, who WASN'T relieved to see her get the ultimate punishment: the Permanent Naughty Plaque?
  • Crosses the Line Twice: One of the kids listed on the Permanent Naughty Plaque is named "Adolph Schicklgruber", which is what the name of Adolf Hitler would've been had his father Alois not changed his last name.
  • Fridge Logic: Princess being the only one on the Naughty List brings interesting implications for the rest of the Girls' rogue gallery. This includes Mojo Jojo (who has a non-verbal cameo in one scene decorating his metal tree), who tricked the Powerpuff Girls into creating his volcano top laboratory and nearly destroyed Townsville in his first outing. If he's somehow on the Nice List, what does that say for other villains like Fuzzy Lumpkins or The Gangreen Gang? Even if one assumes the lists only include children, that still means villains like the Rowdyruff Boys are on the Nice List.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: The cutscene that shows the characters preparing for Christmas day has one where the Mayor wishes for a My Little Horsie for Christmas, with the joke being that he's a grown man. Then in 2010, Lauren Faust, who worked on the show note  would create My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic which would become surprisingly popular with older men.
  • Moment of Awesome:
    • One look at the battle to the North Pole, and you can see why people love the special.
    • "I don't need no stinking list telling me who's naughty and who's nice! You know why? Cause I'm Santa Claus! Check it!"
  • Moral Event Horizon: Princess has done some really awful things in the past, but this episode, she really takes the cake. She outright switches the Nice-Naughty list, making it look like everyone in the world (especially the innocent people who earned their place on the Nice List) are naughty and she (the only one on the naughty list) was nice this year. This means these good boys and girls will be condemned to a Christmas of cold, hard coal in their stockings, all so she can have what she wants for Christmas, and it completely breaks Santa. As a way to solidify how despicable she truly is, Santa puts her on the Permanent Naughty Plaque.
  • Tear Jerker: Santa losing his faith in humanity after spending the whole night delivering coal.
