- Awesome Music: Yes, it's silent, but Richard Einhorn released a definitive score, Voices Of Light, in 1994. It's an apocalyptic oratorio.
- Catharsis Factor: There is a very heart-rending setup, leading to the ecclesiastical court successfully convicting Joan of heresy and her eventual burning at the stake. After the execution, one outraged peasant shouts: "You have burned a saint!", and a riot ensues.
- Narm:
- Nightmare Fuel:
- The torture chamber, with the spiked wheel turning round faster.
- The close-ups of the faces of the priests.
- Tear Jerker: It's 82 minutes of an innocent woman being brutalized by nasty men. Perhaps the most poignant moment in the film is when Joan of Arc is eventually burned at the stake.
- The Woobie: Joan, who is an innocent victim throughout the film.
