• Ensemble Dark Horse:
  • Wendell is popular with the viewers for being amongst, if not the most, funniest characters in the show.
  • T.K. has his share of popularity for being cool, handsome, and having a tragic backstory that adds sympathy and depth for his character.
• Harsher in Hindsight: "Trust a Move" features a two-fer. Mrs. Wilcox chastises Derek, saying he only ever gets applause when he leaves. Derek later questions why Robert hires Mrs. Wilcox to babysit, saying she should be fired. This was the Season 1 finale and both characters would be dropped during the hiatus, with the more popular Wendell getting upgraded to main cast in their places.
• Nightmare Fuel: The kidnapping episode. Especially one scene that shows a POV shot of the kidnapper in question talking to one of Nicky's friends. It's all the more frightening that he's talking to him in a friendly manner, easily luring him away.
• Replacement Scrappy: Kelly replaced Wendell as the Plucky Comic Relief, but is not nearly as popular because he's thought of as less funny.
