• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: It is revealed that the Bat Queen was originally a Palisman and belonged to a giant long ago, but was since abandoned and discarded, so she now decides to take care of lost and injured palisman, including Owlbert. Although Luz promises to help the Bat Queen search for what happened to her owner, such a plot point has never been explored further, especially with the very small amount of appearances the Queen makes after the episode.
• The Woobie: Poor Owlbert. Luz, in the first part of the episode, borrows him from Eda, without getting her permission first. After she tries to get him to fly to the Hexside game, Owlbert flies recklessly, and Luz accidentally causes him to fly into a tree, cracking his head as a result. This injury causes him to fear her and fly away into the Bat Queen's home. Despite her promise to protect him, the Bat Queen doesn't allow him to leave after he forgives Luz, and traps him into webbing.
