Film examples:
- Harsher in Hindsight: Bradley Cooper finding himself in danger in a city subway is now considered to be this following Cooper revealing he has been held at knifepoint on a New York City subway in 2019.
- Narm: It's kind of hard to take the title seriously.
- The death scenes and Gorn can also be too amazingly over-the-top to take seriously for some people.
- Leon and Maya's sex scene partway through can be this. For context, it happens long after we've seen multiple gory death scenes, and isn't plot important.
- They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: "Sucks" might be a bit strong, but The Reveal at the end doesn't make much sense because they removed an important element that was there in the short story ( i.e., that the humanoid creatures that could theoretically be fought instead of appeased, serve an Eldritch Abomination that could not).
