• Anti-Climax Boss: Rocardo Rocavich. Unlike the majority of other Sigil Holders—the weakest of which still put up quite the fight once cornered—Rocardo is incredibly pathetic during his battle against Cassius and Perseus, and ultimately dies getting ironically crushed by a boulder. Granted, he was up against Cassius and Perseus at the same time, but it's still one of the worst battles in the whole story since Rocardo gets no hits in whatsoever before he ultimately gets crushed.
• Badass Decay: Cassius is reduced to the story's Butt-Monkey once Nocturne's destroyed and more formidable Sigil Holders make their presence known.
• Designated Hero: Mateo is far from marvelous as the title states he is, as the story really doesn't give much of a reason for viewers to see past his Lack of Empathy and belief that Murder Is the Best Solution.
• Too Bleak, Stopped Caring: Considering the psychotic natures of both Mateo and Molly, the uncaring attitude of Killian, and the overall monstrous acts of the Sigil Holders they encounter, it's very easy to not care about what ultimately happens to everyone.
