YMMV / The Mandalorian S1E6 "Chapter 6: The Prisoner"

Go To

  • Alternative Character Interpretation:
    • Were Xi'an and the Mandalorian a couple or was it all in just in Xi'an's head? Or was suggesting they were just a joke? Her obvious insanity only muddies the issue.
    • Looking back and forth between Mando's thoughts about Qin's abandonment and Qin's later actions, it's implied that Qin was about to do something horrible that Mando had to stop him.
    • Speaking of Mando, was he really as ruthless Ran and Xi'an claim he was or are they trying to deflect blame over what happened long ago? Or given their outright sociopath tendencies and their constant mocking of his honor, they just can't fathom the idea that there is someone like Mando that can be honorable and are trying to probe out some kind of truth out of him.
  • Padding: It's the third episode in a row where not much of consequence happens, and second in a row where he does a mission only to get betrayed and have to get rid of everyone. Though it actually ended up being an Innocuously Important Episode in Season 2, as Mayfeld gets a more important role, and Din's actions get him in the New Republic's good graces.
  • Take That, Scrappy!: A downplayed example. When the other members of the crew question what the Mandalorian looks like under his helmet, Mayfield suggests he never wants to take it off because he's actually a Gungan underneath.
