YMMV / The Man Called Flintstone

Go To

  • Awesome Music: All of the songs, but standing out is “Pensate Amore (Think Love)” sung by none other than Louis Prima.
  • Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm's first song "Tickle Toddle" is completely tonally removed from and irrelevant to the plot, having little to nothing to do with the actual content of the film.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: One of the gadgets Fred has during "Spy Type Guy" is a fedora with a helicopter blade inside.
  • Tear Jerker: The ending of "Someday". For most of the number it seems to just be an overly saccharine number all centered around Pebbles just like her previous song, only for it to cut to a very forlorn-looking Fred during the last note, making it clear that he's been the one imagining the entire song, and he's envisioning all the things he wants to see Pebbles grow up to do, but she'll never get the chance unless he does something about the Green Goose.
  • Values Dissonance: One of the villains is a Japanese caricature, who speaks pseudo-Japanese and is pretty short and short tempered which would not fly well today.
  • Woolseyism: Both Hungarian dubs, just like those of the series, have the characters talk in constant rhymes and wordplays, and the first dub even re-recorded the entire soundtrack and all the foley effects. Further, with the change of dialogue came a change of plot: rather than a generic evildoer, the Green Goose is explicitly said to be a high-profile drug trafficker dealing with cocaine, hashish and opiates. And instead of merely wanting to destroy the world, he intends to get the world's entire population high with a rocket stuffed full of cocaine, so that no one would be conscious enough to oppose him anymore. Really.
